HDA – HELIDECK ASSISTANT
Course ref: 20.115TARGET GROUP This program is designed to meet the training requirements for Offshore Helideck Assistant as identified in the UKOOA guidelines for Competence and Training. TRAINING OUTCOMES Following a series of explanations, demonstrations and opportunities to practice, delegates will be assessed against the competence standards relating to the following course content.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Attendance on this course is open to delegates who have completed BOSIET or FOET and the Offshore Emergency Helideck Team member training.

Assist with the Preparation of Freight for Loading
- IATA Dangerous Goods
- Floor loading restrictions
- Helicopter types
Assist with Unloading and Loading of Baggage, Passengers and Freight
- Actual / potential dangers to / from helicopter
- Loading arrangement – passengers, baggage, freight
- Correct wearing of PPE and fitting of seat harnesses
- Safe working practices
- Correct embarkation – PPE, loading order, correct fitting and security of lifejackets

Assist with the Preparation for Refueling
- Factors affecting the decision not to offload passengers prior to refueling. (Type of refueling system, prevailing weather conditions)
