JOIFF - BAI (Breathing Apparatus Instructors)
This course is designed for experienced breathing apparatus wearers, who need the knowledge and skills required to design and deliver safe and effective breathing apparatus training. AIM: The aim of the BAI is to enable delegates to devise and deliver competency based training on the technical aspects and operational use and associated procedures of Breathing Apparatus.

Medical & Health Requirements:
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this course may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore, ISTC is required, as a minimum, to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegate must either:
Possess a valid, current medical certificate, or
Possess an operator approved medical certificate, or
Undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form as provided by ISTC.
Practical & Assessment: This course is assessed against the learning outcomes using practical observation throughout and a written test to determine the underpinning knowledge in the more technical areas of BA equipment and procedures. There will also be a requirement for delegates to produce classroom presentations as part of a group or syndicate.
Assessment: Continuous assessment of performance, followed by debriefing of presentations and practical’s, carried out by Senior instructional staff.
