Working at Heights

This course is designed to prepare delegates in the principles and best industry practices in preparation for involvement in works at height, including practical applications covering the provisional use of fall arrest equipment and harness types, fitting, checking and providing an in-depth knowledge of principles and laws governing the process of working at height.

Aims & Objectives:
It is a legal requirement to train workers under Legal Notice 36 of 2003, Regulation 4 (3) best industry practice and quality training provides the knowledge to have a safe work environment and peace of mind for employees and employers alike. 

On completion of the course, delegates will have a working knowledge of:  

  • What the law states  

  • Avoidance, control, protection, PPE  

  • Principles of working at height 

  • Access to work areas  

  • Inspection and risk assessment of the work task and area 

  • Planning  

  • Managing emergency situations  

  • Anchoring  

  • Wearing, inspection and fall arrest, fall restraint, harness, ropes, equipment  

More Information

Assessment:

Continuous assessment of performance, followed by practical scenario training carried out and assessed by a senior Instructor. A ISTC certificate will be issued after successful assessment of competency.
